Recently I picked up a new daypack that I really like and thanks to Schwert, I found the perfect pot to go with it.
The pack is a Kelty Redtail, with a capacity of 1600 cubic inches. It has lashing points on the top, bottom, and back, a removable hipbelt (don't need one on a pack this size, imo), and external pockets for water bottles (I have a small slik tripod in one pocket, held in with a strap across the top). The pot I picked up off an ebay dealer is a 700 ml Ti snowpeak. My nalgene fits nicely in it and the whole shebang fits nicely in a side mesh pocket.
Another nice feature is that it has wide velcro strips that run along the shoulder straps, making it easy to lash a knife and pouch there. I especially like this feature.
Took it for a hike today and found it extremely comfy and plenty big enough to carry all I need for an unplanned overnight stay in the woods. Perfect for birding, mushrooming and general woodsbuming. I'm sure there are lots of other nice ones out there. What ya carrying?
