Cool uses for recycling old cable spools (not exactly a new idea but maybe some new variations:

Yeah they are. That's actually an advantage for outdoor furniture; it doesn't blow around I high winds or turn over when the pets jump on it.

Used to find them lying around in odd out of the way places as the cables guys couldn't be bothered bringing them back. Now folk realise the value and they're hard to lay your hands on. Very robust and scary as heck when used as a war wheel rolling down hill towards you.

I had a "Doncaster Cables, Returnable" one as a table for years, was a fair old size at about four foot in diameter.

I remember nicking one from a skip at uni getting it in the lift (only just fit) then trying to walk on top of it down the corridor...

Ah the things you get up to when your young stupid and have been to the pub for lunch... kinda miss it really:)
