No way of knowing if it is a good stitch or not but it looks like the gator is jumping for something, although I would have expected more flying water.

(or is it a Croc, I can never work it out.)

There's an exact repetition in the splash. Definitely stitched

Very possibly. There's an amusement park down in Central Florida, near Orlando, that does a show with jumping gators coming for meat from the tour boats. TBH, I've never heard of one in the wild actually leaping for prey, though they sometimes lunge at critters on shore the near the water's edge.

Definitely. Check out the ripples in the water. Very bad job.

Maybe, but the ripples are possible; check out the following video and you'll see them in the water on the second and subsequent jumps. http://youtu.be/36S_fvUt1V0 I still agree the bird is probably stitched on though.

The ripples are exact repeats as are elements of the bushes in the bg.
