Hi well today i have come home to a email from David Thompson saying he had left my mags and few extras and the flask with me neighbour , i will say it has taken some pushing from me but the man has been good to his word so i guess the magazine is still running and not folded and i can only put it dow nto them re-starting the compan so to speak that things are a little up in the air you may have ot push a little but i hope he comes good to all who have subscribed and i will try and see him at the show and may be have a chat and see if he has got everyone up to date , i guess may be taking over the magazine and all it entails has taken time and hence may be why they are slow but do keep pushing i am sure he will reply again i do not know anymore i have asked him if he can explain so i could put it on here so others can know and may be get help .

Well fingers crossed we shall see but again he has been good to his word and even dropped them off

I know this is an old thread but I've just had a similar experience and would like this to be an available update for people having similar issues who are doing a Google search about Bushcraft Magazine issues.

I was an early subscriber to the magazine, then found it lacking after a while, but recently I found some interesting sounding articles on their website and so ordered a pile of back issues.

Two weeks on now, and order still "processing" despite them stating that orders are normally sent out within two working days. I've emailed, left phone messages (thanks for the number, btw @Disabled Preppers!) but not one single reply.

I'll continue to chase them. Very unprofessional.

The bigger picture is, why is Ray Mears still choosing to associate with this lazy, unprofessional company? After catching up with the back issues, I was seriously considering subscribing again, but absolutely no chance now. The online reviews of the company are shocking. They certainly explain why the owner doesn't display a phone number . . . or an honest statement of how long orders will take to be fulfilled, even though they take peoples' money straight away.

A shameful way to conduct a business in this day and age.

Unfortunately I had issues with them but not recently, My father in law got me a yearly subscription for my birthday. All good until it auto renewed the next year but the magazines stopped arriving, I chased and a couple more arrived but then nothing so decided to have nothing else to do with them.

That's awful. I wish I'd seen this thread before I ordered the back issues. He seems to just take people's money and not care after that. It's downright theft. I was a subscriber way back when the magazine started so it's sad to see what was the only UK bushcraft mag turn into a money-grab. I should have become suspicious from the almost complete lack of contact details (unless you really dig).

A real shame since the bushcrafting community is normally such an honest and friendly bunch. I do wonder if any of the contributors get paid anything or if it's just for kudos.

If I do end up finally receiving my back issues I'll repost, but I doubt anything will happen since I've had nor response from my multiple emails and voice messages.

Cheers Dean!

Thinking out of the box here.... the website indicates that the Bushcraft Store is one of their event sponsors, so maybe contacting them to get a more reliable contact......

..... if they are an event sponsor (and trader) chances are they place advertising in the mag, so one would expect they have a contact they can always get through to.

This has been going on for many years. It's the same story, over and over again.
Of the last few magazines I actualy managed to get,
the spring edition was basically a big advert for the bushcraft show, the autumn edition was just a big review of the show.
I used to order mine from my local newsagent. Started having problems obtaining it way before covid hit, and eventualy was told it was subscription only. That way, they get your hard earned, then screw you over.

Dont be taken in with their promises. They are never..or very rarely kept. ...thats even if you can contact them.
I even sent a stamped addressed envelope for a reply..never ever heard a thing back.
I may be wrong, but my experience, and that of many others, makes me consider it a big con.
Not worth buying.
Very sad.
