A lot of tense faces at first. Getting to Mars is no easy journey.

Of course, this is just machines, -when humans travel any distance in space they will have to learn to build things themselves...and presumably grow food.

I suspect they will have a lot in common with us.

Tengu (Probably only person in her generation to have read Percival Lowell).

Space flight is one of those really counter intuitive conundrums. Some say the secret is not to throw things into the air until they do not come down but rather to hurl objects toward the ground and miss.

I made some optical kit about 20 years go that's sitting on Mars, hopefully not in the wreckage of one of the crashed landers. Same company did bits for Hubble. Think we made 100 units, shipped 10, they used the best three.

NASA has just released footage of the landing on Mars by the onboard cameras. The Rover is also equiped with a microphone & for the first time, Mars can be heard......wind mostly. :cool:
