The practice called "Clocking" screws can cause them to strip their threads. The coarser the thread the more likely it is.
Nobody ever backs them off to clock them as the part ends up being loose so they tighten it up till its right then overtighten it a bit.
I suspect you just have slightly missplaced OCD.
