Come along to the amazing Summer Moot (21st July - 2nd August), a festival of bushcrafting and camping in a beautiful woodland PLEASE CLICK HERE for more information.
The wood is a fast growing weed tree (I believe sumac) that I debarked and bent without steaming.
The frame is 12" x 8". I made the net from linen twine, 20" deep. I got the idea from this Google (free) book. http://books.google.com/books?id=fu...&resnum=1&ved=0CDEQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q&f=false
go to table of contents - to "nets and netting" then to page 88. Tony
Thanks for that book link, I will have a read of that one. Nice net by the way. I am planning to make a small wooden framed trout net with a steamed ply handle & a handmade net, so your project has given me ideas.
Neumo, in the "Netmaking Projects" section of the "Nets and Net Making" forum there is a link to step by step directions (12 pages) for making a landing net frame. The rest of the forum discusses many other net related subjects. Tony http://pineapple.myfunforum.org/index.php?c=7
