I have an old knif and Axe that are probably over 40 years old .. the knife definatly is.

I want to give them a good clean up before i get to sharpen them up properly after years of neglect.

Whats it the best thing to use to clean them up.

On an axe restoration I used wet and dry sand paper, moving through the grits and then finished it of with very fine wire wool, left a lovely finish with no scratch marks. Did require elbow grease though! :D

Hope this helps! :)
