Hmm, £10 per night plus £10 to have an open fire plus you can't bring meat onto the site for 'bio-security' reasons! Is it April 1st already?
It seems very reasonable in comparison to the Wilderness Gathering or Bushmoot etc. The Farm is a business after all and providing a venue/facilities for no small gathering of people. The Farm's normal rate is £7.50/adult/night. The impact of 250 in a wood can be significant just in clean up. Many land owners wouldn't want 250 campers in their wood regardless.
Fire wood isn't cheap and needs to be paid for. A charge encourages communal fires rather than being wasteful and building them everywhere. It seems a fair way to manage things, people can chip in a pound each to pay for a good sized communal fire. That said the charge for a fire
doesn't apply to this meet, firewood is included.
The Biosecurity thing seems a little OTT but then the house rules are the house rules. Can't say I begrudge buying a cool fresh organic burger from the shop. Nobody is going to frisk attendees if they bring a pack of Bambi burgers or something anyway!
Good on Funky and Roach for organising it, I hope they cover their costs and then a bit. I can see it being good fun and educational.
