I was killing time today in keswick and found myself in a well known outdoor clothing/equipment chain holding two packs of the above water purification tablets, wondering which was the best?

I asked one of the sales assistant and his first response was the Clordiox because the cost twice as much as the other one. His second was to shrug his shoulders.

After having no luck there i thought id try on here.

So which is best? Why buy one over instead the other one?

Not an expert but I think Chlorine dioxide was introduced to fill the "premium" gap in the market left by the banning of Iodine tablets. Don't know if it's any better than the regular product (which I expect is compounded with something anyway - a chemist will be along shortly).

Apparently Chlorine tablets don't work in cold water, BTW!
