I'm sure we've all spent part of our youth gazing longingly in shop windows, or in more recent times gazing into our web browser. The items I probably spent the most time drooling over were Puma knives which were displayed in the windows of my local gunsmiths in Bangor and Caernarfon. I particularly liked the Hunter's Pal model, the classic White Hunter was too big for my liking. What bushcraft related item do you remember staring longingly at through a pane of glass?

An array of various folding knives that included a sweet twin bladed (Lambsfoot and Spearpoint) Rosewood model, in a window in Hereford ... I looked at them every morning on my way to school and eventually bought the Rosewood one.
I wonder where it ended up as I no longer have it...

Back in the 70's there use to be a gun shop just off ‎ St Martins Lane in the heart of London's West End.  Half the window display comprised an upright gun rack full of rifles complete with their bolts.   In hindsight I believe most were Parker Hale's but as a child I dreamt of owning any one of them.

1990 I was 14 and drooling over most air rifles. Was lucky enough to have a relative with a farm that I spent most summer holidays at and got to use the shot gun along with air rifles. I just couldn't take them home to townville and for the remaining 11 months of the year I drooled and lived in hope that at Christmas my old man would let me have an air rifle.
Does a bushcrafting dog count? Although I'm against dogs as gifts for most people at Christmas I also wanted an outdoors dog and could never have one of those either!
Never happened.........as an adult I've got a pcp air rifle and still have use of the relatives farm!
Lucky enough for me and my family to live with a border terrier at the moment.
Can't complain!

I always had my nose pressed to fishing tackle shop windows, couldn't walk past one without gazing for ages at all the wonderful things I couldn't afford on a Saturday morning delivery round.

West end area shop fronts were entrancing. But, my strongest nose pressing was on a glass hexagonal free-standing case. Even remember the wooden frames of the case. Inside was an armour set for a child in metal, of course. Breastplate and helmet on top shelf. legs below. Sad look on parent's faces as they couldn't possibly afford it. I now love seeing my certain aged eldest son in his full plate armour.

I don't remember the model but it was a Puma sheaf knife in Fred Hollis's tackle shop window in Camborne,Cornwall.I longed for it but never had one.

The very best of Britain = the Jetex rocket engines. Hard savings but I had the helicopter with a pair of 50B engines, the 200 for a rocket sled to fool with on snow-covered winter streets.
Eventually moved up to the Scorpion engine. My nose print is still on that hobby-shop display case.

Always drooled over a login s16 in my local gun shop/outdoor store window. No idea if it was actually any good or not but man did it look cool. Reminds me I must get myself an air rifle next year...
