Cast iron skillet thingy help

Generally agree. However I've also found the older CI brands (think Wagner) are better than those available today, They seem as if they were finished smoother to begin with and had a generally better quality. Even within the same brand, some pieces just seem better than others. Knida makes the whole search and collect/use process a litlle more interesting.



That Wagner-ware is good stuff. I bought a deep skillet identical to this one...

several years ago and it is a superb piece of kit. Wish I'd bought more whilst good prices were to be had for both ironware & postage.

LOL. I wish they were still in business.

I have one nearly identical to yours (Not Wagner though) that a friend gave me while we were stationed in England. The only difference is mine has a flat CI lid with a handle that can be removed and used as a griddle, He had bought it for use camping with the Scouts but gave up on it when it rusted. So I was pleased to take it off his hands and clean it up. No markings on it indicating what brand though.
