I have a recollection that somewhere, and I think it may have been on here, there were designs and ideas for providing shelter for insects and some of our reptiles through the winter, but for the life of me I can't find the suggestions.
I am thinking about woodpiles, bamboo canes, end on and the like.
Can anyone help?
Ta :)

That's the thing. Mind you, the bottom one, while impressive, is a bit over the top :)
Thanks for that.
Has anyone actually built one and does it work, or is it something made by the hopeful and well-intentioned?

I've noticed that a poorly maintained garden shed seems to be a haven for over-wintering beasties. Up here in Scotland the ladybirds are already going to sleep so if you live in the south you may only have a week or so to set up a bug-hotel. ;)
