Canvas weight

I picked up some khaki /green coloured canvas today from a market, I weighed it and it weighs 23 ounces to the line metre, It is the usual 60 inches /150 cm in width.
Question! is this weight any good for making a tent, it look and feels nice, no manufacture problems (it was only £1.00 a metre)

Should be. The polish army tipi's are canvas and the material isn't too thick or heavy. Not sure of the weight though

I've seen 12, 16 and 18oz recommended on various sites, that was to the sq yard but yours won't be far off.
