Camp footwear?

Hey guys,

Just curious to know if anyone carries a second pair of something to wear whilst at camp. I usually just undo my boots and keep them on but I'm wondering if theres' maybe a better solution.

I remember buying a pair of heavy woolen socks that had a stitched leather sole but I can't remember where they were from (tibet maybe?) and so can't find them on google. Anyone know the ones I mean?

Anyone carry crocs? Or moccasins? Or do you just barefoot it?

Normally just boots, but i have some lambs wool seat covers that are going to become boots for cutting around camp, once i figure out what to use for a sole, Hmmm?

Barefoot, boots, mukluks, moccasins, sandals. I all depends on what I'm doing, what the climate is, etc.

I try for barefoot whenever possible, but always have my hiking sandals with me at the very least...I did a week-long canoe trip this past august with a guy who even did the portages barefoot...

it is fairly simple to make that kind of slipper-socks to an existing sock. Or make a simple moccasin in thin leather and use that outside your socks as camp footwear (e.g. copy the worlds oldest shoe...)

You could try crocs they come in some very camp colours!

I just use a pair of very light weight running shoes.

Crocs in summer, pair of welly's in winter. As I no loger hike the welly's have replaced my boots in winter and are so comfy

don't know whether the extra weight is worth it if packin a lot of gear already
