I saw a couple of these on one of the UK repeat channels a few weeks ago, they were excellent. I shall have to get the DVD, thanks for the heads up.

Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's A Cook on the Wild Side. About £12 off Amazon

Both Series in one box. Just got through disc One - really inspirational :D

I saw this on tv and have watched the repeats and I rather enjoyed it too.

I was going to go buy a copy from amazon as you suggest but you mention you're just through with disc one...implying there is another disk, however, on the amazon site unde product details it says it's just one disk..... ? ? ?

Have I got the right one? It's £13.47 from amazon or new/used from £11.23 and has a total running time of 144mins?

Cheers,

Bam. :)

That's the one Bam, but if you click the Amazon Jersey link instead, you'll save a further quid.

I have some photos of the gastrowagon somewhere if anyone's interested.

Which series did you like better - series 1 or 2? And why?

I preferred series 1 myself, felt it was a little more educational. Series 2 started to lose the plot a little...

If you enjoyed these, it's worth checking out the first couple of series of River Cottage (check out Hugh's website). Unfortunately, after the first two series or so, I felt he concentrated more on the commercial buying/selling side than the actual food growing and gathering.
