Bushtool (not a woody clone) my take on an old design

That's uncanny, I have been thinking up a design for a new neck knife for a couple days now Its is almost identical to that, although shorter blade and the handle is more rounded.

It is a wonderful knife you have made there, a timeless classic.

Very,very nice mate!
Has something of the hard to find Bearclaw field knive about it,IMHO!
Which is,of course,a complement!
Love it!

I thought some might like a quick third party review of this "quest" of Shinken's. The first prototype dropped through my letter box yesterday.

Frankly his pictures do not do the knife justice

Actually - nor do mine :o

The wood is just.....timber porn :D

Just gorgeous!

The handle is fantastically shaped - it sort of begs being slapped in the hand with a surgeons "thwack"

I love the brass buttcap and ferrule - very solid and heavy and add a real feeling of control to the balance of the knife

The sheath is great - true scandy style with a liner and a reasuring solid click & grip when the knife is pushed home. You know its "not going anywhere"

In use? Solid, accurate, very, very precise. Everything a puukko should be in my mind.

I know Ash is still experimenting with this design...but this knife has nothing, but nothing worng with it. A "super steel" blade, a stabalised handle, solid brass fittings. Just stunning.

Would I change anything? Well, for me a tan coloured sheath...but that's cosmetics. What would I change about the knife? Not a single thing!

If these make it to "production"....buy one.
