Not elm, it's something nameless from the depths of my shed, but I have very little elm and I keep that quite separate as the grain is lovely. I suspect it is a bit of old hazel.

Thanks for the compliment. It may well be birch, I'm not very good at separating birch, hazel sycamore etc once they are chopped into bits.
