Birch craft from the woodland store

Is this locally sourced birch bark? I can never find any really good bark around here - fine for firelighting but nothing good enough for containers - the bark always seems to be too thin and to have small holes in it.

Beautiful looking work.

I have the same problem here. I have heard that the bark is much better for things like that up north. I live way down in Somersetshire and have no luck finding park the same as you. Are there such things as bark suppliers?

Some of this bark was gathered in north and central Scotland and some was brought back with me from a recent visit to nothern Canada, Birch bark thickness and quality varies from place to place in the UK, but saying that, you can produce some wonderful bushcraft from this bark, depending on how you work it.:)
