SWMBO has run out of chores for me to do and have been green lighted to have a few of nights away 
So I'm heading down to Llanllawdog on the bus this morning then off into Brechfa forest to temporarily sate the wanderlust by exploring some of the places I've never been yet.
Pack's a little heavier than I'd like at 28lbs but that's including food for 3-4 days (+1 litre of water) at the final weigh in and as campfires are technically verboten in this area then the winter bag weighing in at 4lbs gets another trip out. On the plus side it'll be a good dry run for a longer trek around Llyn Brianne hopefully sometime in June. Some trepidation about the rucksack, it's that horrible 'Kelty' style frame pack clone I picked up from a charity shop, I've made some mods to the back support and combined it with a tactical bum-bag for hip belt support. It seems to work, feels comfy but how it will perform after a few days use I'm not so sure.
