I was given a set and Id like to use the thonging.

how would I straighten them? they are well impregnated with leather cleaner; I doubt water would soften them at all.

-Come to think of it, they are in good nick...should I pass them on as they are? If I want thonging, I can chop up an old belt.

If they're in good condition it'd be a great shame to pull them apart for a bit of thonging - they'd surely be worth posting as a trade? What would you want for them?

Um, leather or anything I can trade for leather?

you are right, they are a good set, dressage rider gave them to me. (And she showed me her best tack...Which is much, much fancier than these reins.)

A good trade for 5 mins repair work, eh?
