Looks great! I went with the rails and bars on mine because I already had a roofbox to go on it, but otherwise a rack would have been good.

The big question is what you’re going to put on your rack…

I sense an LED strip and a magnetic aerial plate in my future.

Also the Christmas tree when we go and get that... I think my wife's most excited about the this one.

Power steering reservoir and fluid changed. I can really feel the difference! One of those jobs that’s not too tricky and definitely work doing.

Arrgh, we had this on our Disco Sport - turned out, after many weeks without the car and a big 'diagnostic' bill to be a corroded cable. Not all recovery companies can handle this though :(

And, before we get any 'well it is a Land Rover' comments, this same fault is reported on BMWs, VWs, Audi etc.

It’s definitely a universal EPB problem, it seems. I managed to unseize mine this morning before RAC turned up, by waggling the connector on the rear right actuator.

Ordered new actuators and wiring looms this afternoon for both sides, so (probably stupidly) I am going to attempt to do this myself… In the meantime, I’ll just make sure I don’t park on a hill!

Unfortunately, when the connector was disconnected on the DS the engine management system knew and stuck the car in limp home mode so I had to have it carted off because I couldn't drive it the 60 miles home :(

I guess I could have had a go myself but it would have taken me a long time to find a corroded cable - probably after a lot of wasted money on actuators. Good luck, I hope it goes well.

Parked next to a fellow instructor’s 110.

My FL2 is in the garage today for a new O/S/F lower suspension arm and ball joint. That’s my Christmas present!

Just had to change a headlight bulb and spotted that the little 'release plunger' was broken on both sides. This is used to release a clip to pull the whole lamp array out. It's actually super easy to just reach down and manually release the clip, so no great shakes, however I've ordered a set of replacement plungers from PowerfulUK:

The newer Freelander 2 (facelift version from 2013 onwards) takes a HB3 bulb, even though Google and Halfords will tell you it's an H7. They are telling lies! HB3 for sure.

I've ordered a set of better quality replacement HB3 bulbs which I'll switch out once the next bulb dies.

Bulb failure was the main reason I switched to LED on the Defender - any rough off-road stuff, or just bad corrugations on forest tracks, resulted in a bulb failure more often than not. I had better results using rally bulbs but they're actually illegal on the road!
