In Spain and I believe possibly France too, the most used weapon for boar hunting is a semi auto shotgun chambering SSG or slug. They do it at very close range too. The hounds flush the piggies out towards the hunters. Eeek!

Well I went looking today and no luck !! However I read in the local paper this evening that there are now boar babies up there!!! Piglets were photographed and the article in the western morning news described that alot of the sows that escaped were heavily pregnant! I wonder how the boars were kept in captivity and whether they have the skills to survive in the wilderness...it seems like they are doing fine at the moment!
