All,

Looking to get a bivi bag to work with my Go-Lite Shangri-La 3
6a00fa969bb42f0003010980caeab9000b-500pi

Now it doesnt need to be completely waterproof as it will be inside the tarp, but it does need to be breathable and keep the wind off - a bug net or hoop is a bonus.

I sleep quite hot and so I am worried about dampness and condensation on my down bag.

What is the breathability of

  • Goretex
  • eVent
  • Epic
  • Pertex
Bivi also should be pretty light so if you have any personally experience please let me know. I am currently looking at the following (depending on what I hear about fabrics)

Thanks in advance for your input.

I had a British Army bivi, got a hunka, sold the Army bivi. Decided I couldn't get on with the Hunka (too small/restrictive), sold it and bought another army bivi. The hunka's are light, but too small IMO. I expect the XL is better, but out of stock at the moment. I like the space in the army bivi (room for kit too), but at the expense of weight I guess.

Rab Survival zone or Alpkit Hunka should do the trick. I use a survival zone under my tarp and it has never let me down. Also it's light and cheap.
