After Angst did his talk on sewing machines at the moot I errr... Bought a 201.

Its very shiny.

Anyway, having never sewn before, I decided to go for something really simple, a round bottom drawstring pouch.

(Actually I knew this was not a beginner project but I thought why not)

Hurrah! It looks OK!

OK I made a tiny mistake, I forgot to make a seam allowance on the sides, so I did the best I could...

Amazingly when I flipped it inside out I found the seam was almost perfect if it hadn't been on the edge of the material!

Anyway dead chuffed for a first attempt. Now to go pick apples for cider.

Looks excellent Tim

I have been sewing canvas and seat belt webbing together with mine to reinforce some tears on an army cot bed. Once started as shown by Angst seemed to cope really well even where there were 3 layers well chuffed

Thanks mate much appreciated. Was pulling my hair out till I saw something about threading up the needle in the incorrect height position so I redid it and it worked! :)
