Birch Tree Tapping - Am I Too Late

Apologies as no doubt this will have been discussed, my excuse is I'm currently offshore and using my mobile with a very weak WiFi connection so searching takes ages!!

My question is as the title of my post says, am I too late for tapping a birch tree? I'm not due back to dry land until the the 3rd of April and having never done it before was just wondering. Again apologies if this is a repeat post but it takes about 4 minutes for a Web page to load up!!

You will have to go out and see, maybe tbh all the birch round me are budding up nicely now (south coast)

you could do the broken branch method and see how it drips?
