Does anyone by any chance have a pretty well seasoned burl they might let me have for a small fee? Promised someone something and left it a little late :(

It's a twisty growth on a tree. Here is a better explanation than mine :)
They are very nice for carving - traditionally scandinavian items like kuksas are carved from them

How does one remove a burl from a tree without damaging the tree?
Is it ok to just saw it off close to the trunk or will the tree suffer from bacterial infection?
I have made a nice spoon and would love to have a go at a bowl or kucksa.
