I have a pair of Steiner Predator 8x30 (model 286) binoculars and am sick of getting a sore neck when out walking with my binos.

Could anybody reccomend a shoulder harness that would work with these?

I know steiner do harnesses but they are Extortionately priced.

Try tying a short piece of Para cord from the middle of the strap down your back to your
belt at the back, then adjust to take the weight off your neck, Sorted. I hope!
Not quite as good as a harness, but a lot simpler.

I wear mine long, and have them under an arm (ie put one arm through the strap too). When I need to use them, they generally just slide round. I find it stops the annoying bounce you get when walking along and saves me having to have 1 and on them.
