Yes they're quite excellent and the steel is super tough. I think it's 1060 or 1070. So it's a perfect gardening or toolbox knife, I think that's what it was made for. If you want to pay not that much more and have a more lasting edge with 1095, you can go for a Mora Pro or a Mora Robust. I got a good deal on a Mora, or I would have bought that Hultafors too. But on the upside, a softer steel will require more sharpening and stropping and that can be fun or educational, too. Especially for a first knife.
