Belt help!

OK so I am looking to make a belt out of something other then leather.

It will not be for holding up my trousers, I will be wearing it on the outside of my jacket to hold a knife/parang

Anyone got any thoughts/Pictures

Have you tried making one from wool yarn, i.e. sash.

This one is made of leather but it could just as easily be any kind of cordage.

Worn by just hooking the toggle though the loop, adjusted by moving the slides as required.

Do you think it would work with paracord in a 2 ply twist?

Should do, mine is Reindeer thonging in a double twist so much the same really but a bit more rot proof for jungle conditions.

A brown leather one would look a lot more attractive I do admit.

What are the dimensions or the single strands of leather in yours?

About the same as decent paracord I'd say.

They are twisted up from hand cut thin flat leather about 1/4" wide, soaked and over twisted, then back folded to make the doubled cord. A bit like making nettle cordage if you know what I mean.
