I have just ordered a strip of leather 1 1/2" wide from Le Prevo. I was wondering what size buckle I should get for this size piece of leather and what would generally look best.

Thanks

Buckles are (or _should_ be) designed to be matched to a width of the leather ~ so a 1.5" buckle is designed to fit 1.5" wide belt strip.

As to what would look best? That will depend on a blend of personal choice and preference with a topping of suitability for the task at hand.

The choice of buckle is a very personal one as it says a lot about you to the outside world ( like your choice of footwear ) Only you can decide what looks best. I have a home made 1.5 ( 3.8 cm) bridle leather belt ( chessnut) & have a plain solid brass buckle ( rather western/ hippy looking) which I have used on various belts since 1982.( that makes it vintage then.. lol.) That says quite a bit about me.
