Just bought one and a little confused about the straps can anyone enlighten me about what the large clips are for?

You'll have to provide at least a pic or the name. We've made more than 1 40L backpack in Belgium in the past few decenia .

I thinks I've worker it out, it's the army rubberised one, looking at it you connect the 2 straps together to make on long one, this the clips onto the sides of the bag so you can use it as a satchel

Yes, the army has also made multiple rubberised ones over the last few decades xD

It's the same like i'd ask you what a clip is for on the top left of an UK backpack. Oh, it's a military looking one
