I now have a hat, gloves and a jumpsuit (size M 100-104cm)

the leather part of the gloves has gone hard. how do I soften them?

and is anyone interested? I have no bees.

First clean the gloves with Saddle soap, then soften with Neatsfoot oil.
Then check your locality for people selling honey, make an approach and actually buy a pot and tell them how interested you are in having a go.
Most Beekeepers are more than happy to help out, plans are available on the net to make your own hives.
When I had a go the only things I had to buy were a smoker, queen excluder, and feeder,.
The extractor and strainer I borrowed the use of from the old guy that introduced me to it all, also my Bees came from him as a swarm will form when a young queen leaves to start her own colony.
It is VERY profitable for very little work and outlay, and an altogether very enjoyable experience.
