How do you mean? I thought merino wool was just the same, but from different sheep, so finer. Are there different treatments or something?
Yes, some jumpers are knitted with wool which has the lanolin left in. E.G. I used to spin direct from the fleece and my wife knitted me jumpers from the wool. The wool was washed gently and a lot of lanolin was left in. It helped to make the woolies waterproof.
I used to treat the chamois liners of my cycling trousers with neat lanolin so I know I'm not allergic to it.
