Like most things,it's down to personal taste.
I have never got on with a khukri,mine is a WWII issue.Much prefer the SFA.

I am in the axe camp, if i want to split wood ill use an axe as it does it better than a kukri.
I think a well sharpened axe is equally as good at making feather sticks.
The axe can be used as a knife and draw knife and can be used with a batton.
I carry a knife so anything cutting wise that i need to do ill use that.
The only thing id carry a kukri for is brush clearing and i'd use a billhook for that. I'd use one in the jungle though or if i had to fight someone.
