Axe wooden sheath

Got a Hultafors Felling Axe HY 20 the other day. It came without a sheath, so I made one myself. I used plywood, paracord, felt pads and paint - here is the result:

Nice job that, when I saw the pictures before reading it I thought you'd made the cover out of drilled slate. Tidy job and nice and unusual too.

Nice job, excellent idea..

Here's mine. Materials used, Leather from a three piece suite, double layered. A wooden insert shaped to cover the blade edge and glued into place with pine pitch glue, stitched together with copper wire then sealed with pine pitch.

That's come out really nicely Steve. Has a Native American feel too it. I like to see axes covered well like that. Working in forestry used to see too many folk just chucking axes into a trailer or the back of a van where they'd get dinged about. Always kept me snedding axe covered and seperate so that it was kept tiptop.
