Does anybody else have this?

I recently bought it looking for a lightweight water/wind resistant jacket and have found it to be very good.

I tested its water-proofness by walking around a couple of fields for over an hour in the pouring rain and not a drop got through. Also, I went for a cycle in strong winds and found it (to my surprise) to be very good at stopping the wind as well!

It weighs 156g and the pouch its stored in is palm-sized and extremely easy to carry anywhere, even in pockets without any hassle.

Very glad I got it.

Pertex I think.

Tried one on at the Game Fair and wished I'd bought it. They cost £15 to £20 so are about one third the price of similar windshirts made by fashionable makers.

A good partner to the rather non-windproof swannie. Pack size is very low.

in a serious down poor i got wet in it ! well atleast on parts where it touched bare skin, expected from it, it is just pertex. My clothing was dry however. Don't really know why, but could have something to do with my supllex shirt underneed it, which is slighty waterresistant.

I carry mine on sunny days wenn i don't expect rains, as a barrier for light rains or wenn i'm close to camp, to keep most rain of untill i can het my waterproof parka in case of a heavy down poor.

I have one (large size) and whilst it is quite good and does exactly what it says on the tin I have had one or two problems with it.

Firstly while the body fits me ok the arms are a bit on the short side (only when I'm stretching up/to the front)? Maybe I'm just a bit of knuckle dragger with long arms but it's not a problem I've encountered before?! Best to try before you buy (I bought mine on ebay).

Secondly while it does have a small pack size its a real struggle to get back into the tiny bag it came with! In the end I thought it wasn't worth all the sweat/tears attempting to squeeze it in and just bought another (slightly larger) bag!

I'm not sure if I've got an older/newer model as well because mine has a hood ......... which isn't shown in any of the promotional photos (I doesn’t fold away into the collar)??

there are 2 versions of this shirt, one with hood the other without. i'f i'm correct the camie models doesn't have the hood. The OD has. I also have problems stuffing the shirt back in to the stuffsack. I just put it in my trouwser pocket without the bag after use. I use the bag for inital carry. Wenn it is out of the bag, it stays out of the bag untill i get home.

Mine has the right dimentions for me, the arms stop right at my wrist. I can't hide my hand in it, though....

I've got one I bought from a shop in Exeter (where they are made) and its great. So cheap and works well as a windproof. Not as quiet a materail for stalking as you can buy - pertex is a bit rustly, but camo (realtree) is really effective. Got a medium and it goes into stuff sac alright. At 15 quid no complaints :)

I've got one and I think they're great. If you have one of these and a fleece jumper on you basically have a buffalo mountain shirt with a lot more versatility. I keep one in my boilersuit pocket when offshore, it really helps you stay warm in a cold wind.

I don't have any problem getting it back in the pouch, just treat it like a tiny sleeping bag and stuff it in there.

I've got the XL and it fits back in the bag fine (I just stuff it in). On bare skin it can be a bit chilly but 1 layer underneath (a long-sleeved shirt, etc) and it stops.

I have one (with a hood) and I got seriously soaked in it the other week.

I believe that this is because it's a bit too big on me and I only had a t shirt under it. As a consequence it is not taught and so water catches in the creases and seeps through. Even when I have a fleece underneath it still leaks around my pack straps. Also the manafacturers of Pertex never said it's fabric was 100% waterproof, I was just hoping for better performance from this as my only other experience of Pertex is my Buffolo Special 6 shirt is brilliant.

As a windprrof layer though it's fine.

Moral of the story, get one that fits properly ;)
