apples for rowan jam

Do I need cooking apples for rowan jam? Will normal apples do the trick? It would be nice to use my own garden ones.

You can use any apples you can get hold of. Crabs, cooking, or the ones going cheap at the end of the day in the supermarket.
Personally I like a mix.

Best kind

The rowan and apple jelly is one of those 'what can you find' type jams
Like 'summer fruit' or 'autumn fruit' mixed jams, everybody's tastes different, but they're all good
