Apple drying tray made out of re-purposed roofing batten that ive ripped down on the bandsaw to make the slats and sides, tray is based upon a drawing of a tray in a book by Eric Sloane, just a shame i didnt have any apple wood to make it per the original text.

Nice work! You have certainly been busy lately.

I can't think of any reason why your original text would specify apple wood, other than making it look good. If I had any apple wood then I would be inclined to save it for something more decorative.

Ive been trying to make things as part of my recovery from a long term illness, which initially left me paralysed, making things even simple things can take a couple of days, but it's all good exercise to help get my dexterity and strength back, im well on my way now though, but its been a tough 18 months.

I think the original text mentioned apple wood being used as the writer had a large orchard and a plentiful supply of wood from it, i agree though, apple is much better suited to something a little more decorative.
