Anyone remember wire saws, 40+ years ago, that cut?

Thanks for your reply.

I thought I was a member, but nobody told me there was a secret handshake.
I tried the little postcard. That's what rejected my URLs.

I've been searching this site for photo upload rules, "640x480 jpg under 10 kB", or whatever.

Photobucket put up a paywall. I left. Searched "free photo hosting", but B-UK doesn't seem to accept https URLs, only http. Weird.

I did data analysis for a marketing firm. I've pulled the personal data of Facebook users. No thank you, I won't use any Facebook-owned app. Too bad, WhatsApp was good. Friend, I recommend that you switch to Signal. Better encryption and no tracking.

Cheers,

I never had much luck with wire saws and do not bother anymore.
Well, yes, they are awful, except for the sharp one. Even so, I carried one for years solely to cut splints. At the time, I was living in an arid area with no down and dead wood; there was no need for a firewood-gathering tool. I was lampooned by my then-gf for carrying it. We're friends again, 40 years later.

Seems this is the maker for atleast some of the US military ones.

Interesting website, they do a Gigli blade and claim it's better than the old 3-strand version. They do several versions of a survival saw and look like the real deal.
The usual fare of UK others I've tried outof curiosity and were pretty poor/blunted quickly.
