Anyone know of a good Essex camping spot?

Hi

Does anybody know of a good camping spot in Essex or surrounding counties such as kent and Hertfordshire? Preferably wooded areas. Perhaps open fires allowed :?:

debden house campsite is on the edge of Epping Forest. It's a large site, with good facilities. They do allow campfires. The site is owned by the London Borough of Newham, and is used for school trips, and organisations, so it can be quite crowded.

Do you know of any forests where you can just camp out and maybe have fires? Like Sherwood or Dalby perhaps?

Hello again,

Just noticed that your 13, and from Essex. If you have any family or freinds with links to Newham (live in the Borough, or have family there) you can get reduced rates at the site.

I have stayed there often, and its a good site, as long as you avoid the busier main field.
