I've aquired a new knife, well new to me anyway. I was told it was antique but even though it looks very old, I'm not sure it's antique or not, I'm not bothered it was the style of knife that grabbed me, it has a keen edge and it's all good other than the leather on the inside of the moulded sheath is a bit too dry and needs some oil in it. It looks like a very old Scandinavian knife.
The knife is in very good condition and has a lovely balanced feel to it in the hand.
The maker's mark on the blade is just visible "FLODSVL" there is another letter and some wording underneath but they are too faint to make out. I've done an internest search and "Flodsvl" appears to be a name in Sweden?
Does anyone know anything about it or the maker? I'm just curious as it looks like it has a history to it!
Cheers
