I am considering getting a new pack, and wondered if there were any recommendations.

I am currently considering a plat a tac medics pack.

I am basically looking for something suitable for bushcraft, day to day use and ideally something that can also be used for carry on baggage on a plane....

Also quite like the 5.11 rush 24......

Perhaps consider a Camelbak Motherlode...

Well made and well featured with a host of spots for storage of all sorts of kit and you get a hydration bladder as well.

Any well made 35l day pack from a reputable manufacturer would fit the bill.
By keeping to 35l capacity it will be within the permissible size for airline carry on baggage with a little bit of creative squashing.
Ryanair's dimensions of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm equals 44000 cubic cm. which is 44l.
I traveled to Cambridgeshire from Southern Ireland via Stansted Airport twice this summer with a full fair weather bivvying kit (minus sharps and gas) in just my hand luggage.
My kit list included...

3/4 Thermarest
Softie 6
MOD bivvy bag
Poncho, paracord & plastic pegs
2 Titanium cups & Lexan cutlery
2l Platypus bladder
Gas cooker (non dodgy on Xray shape)
Petzl torch
SW & VHF/UHF radios
Binoculars
Books & nav. kit
Light fleece, hat, spare shirt & socks
Wash kit, towel & TP
Admin. kit (batts, lighter, paper & pen etc.)

I bought food and fuel in town after arriving and spent a total of 5 nights sleeping out in lovely East Anglia.
35l's is plenty generous for your needs Goldeneye.
Happy trails...torc.
