Well folks
the AS garden is coming along in fits and starts. Most things are coming on but something massacred all of one type of collard and all but one of the other o herself has second batches of both on the window sill and they will be going out under fine netting when they are big enough.
Anyroad I've put some feelers out and the kind Folk at West Stow have been most helpful. Evidentially they were supplied with wild cabbage by the people at Bedes World that was found growing on a cliff top at Tynemouth. I would definitely like some of those seeds!
From a contact at Butser I've found out the type of oats We should be planting is Avena Sativa, (wild oats) which the wife has just ordered 2000 seeds of for a couple of quid. Evidently cats love it and this place specialises in plants for dogs and cats. Yeah.
From West Stow I've learned a little about the Heritage Seed Library. Unfortunately having blown all my silly money on toys like a Makita power file I can't justify the membership just to get a few seeds. So I was wondering if there were any members here who may have a few spare of the ones we are after such as emmer wheat, Edingtons leeks, wild cabbage etc.
