Anvil help

I have been looking for an anvil for sometime with very little luck. I received an email response to one of my wanted ads and wanted your opinions. He is trying to find a weight for me so for now all I have are these two pictures. as you can see there is significant damage on this poor old thing. Should I even consider this or tell him thanks but no thanks? At this point we haven't talked price. Thanks in advance for your help!

If its cheap enough, I would take it!

Maybe you can take it to a machine chop and grind/machine it flat.

I'd leave it mate. The most important part of an anvil is the striking face and that one is way beyond redemption. If it's just for trying out, why not check if your local scrap merchant has any old offcuts of railway track. These make excellent DIY anvils for a basic start. Modify like the one in the link below

After some research on repairing this Anvil, Ive passed on it and will continue to look, I do have a rail track anvil at the moment but am on the hunt for something a little more substantial. Thanks for your advice!
