Antler.

Does anyone perhaps have a spare piece of antler that I could have to make some flat scales for a SAK.
Willing to pay postage to isle of Man if necessary.

Crosslandkelly that is a lovely piece but my SAK is 3.5 inches long by three quarters wide so unfortunately it is too short.I do like the texture of the 3" long bit if you happen upon some.

I was hoping to pick up some antler on Islay for my walking sticks. Surely on an island full of red deer it should be reasonably priced? but, no, it appears there is high demand and the stuff is sold to overseas Grockles (tourists) at silly prices.

We dont even have deer on this island, nor badgers or adders...or squirrels, grey or red, sadly.

Use that short bit with a wood bolster or two at the ends. It'll deal with the problem of the exposed centre that would show at the ends.

Stew, that is a good idea but my skills are not that good to do that, it would be task enough for me to do a complete antler scale without the bolsters !!

if you check out your local pet shop ours seem to be selling antler at the moment as dog chews, I have managed to find pieces of the size you are looking for
