ive just bought a few roe deer antlers to make into firesteel handles and the like , can anyone tell me the best way of carving woodspirits, the greenman or some celtic design on them. Would a dremmel type tool work ?

Hi,
I'm certainly no expert and have limited talent but I do a bit of stickmaking......
You can certainly use Dremels on antler, but using small warding type files and knives is probably safer until you get some experience. Dremels are great, but they create a lot of dust and its very easy to be too enthusiastic. Suggest you start with a piece of wood , have a few attempts and progress to antler?
The tutorial link above is certainly good stuff and really helpful.
