Another Saami inspired needle case

This is an updated version of my Saami Inspired needle case. I used bamboo instead of reindeer bone. The reindeer herds here are quite rare. The scrimshaw symbols are meaningless. It was just my effort to look Saami-ish. Enjoy

Really nice and simple. Might have to steal that idea. .

I sanded off the skin of the bamboo and treated it with beewax/mineral oil combo. My hope is that the oiled/waxed bamboo is less likely to crack. I also tried to find bamboo with thick walls. Time will tell.

Thanks. Lazy sod that I am, I guessed that I could start with a hollow bone to begin with and just tidy it up.

Not all Saami practiced reindeer husbandry. Other Saami also used e.g. bronze, brass or wing feather from a swan.
