I went to Tesco last night and got an end of line pot like this http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.200-7874.aspx
for a fiver. Although it is in a cream colour

Could it be used in a similar way to a dutch oven? Obvious difference is the enamal coating but the principle should be the same, shouldn't it? It's a biggish cast iron pot with lid

I'm supposed to be off to fisherground in a few days, I'll take it and try it see what happens.
Supposedly a Dutch oven is quite versatile. Any suggestions of food that I can try out that generaly would only be considered as dutch oven food? I think what I am trying to say is, I want to try it out as a dutch oven so there must be something that you would considered best cooked in a dutch oven or can only be cooked over an open fire in a dutch oven.
