Breath in. Breath out. Breath in. Breath out. Count to ten.
The guy denied all knowledge of repairing and pressure testing it. Even when shown the receipt. Swmbo got upset, he made her feel really small.
So. The big bald man arrived in taxi, and returned the favour.
It will now be ready next Saturday. Apparently its leaking from around the 'plastic', I took that to mean the bezel.
Swmbo gave him every chance to resolve it before calling me.
I would have understood if it was a mistake and admitted it, but he just stood and told bare face lies.

The place is called watchwise, its in the castleford indoor market. Stay well clear folks.
I always try to use the little independent shops for most things. Locally grown produce too.
This guy is one of the reasons most people go to franchises and larger stores. Shame on him.

Hope it gets sorted properly. Please tell me you had the stern-faced expression on when you nailed him to the wall.

Hope the thumb get better soon too.

Edit, Sweet looking watch that is too. Just hit ebay to check them out and they're a bit pricey for me. Oddly enough the ones listed from the US work out cheaper than those in the UK.

Blimey, didn't realise they were that price. Mine was £60 Inc delivery from the states, about 3 years ago. They are worth the money though. They use same materials as traser watches, just cheaper.

The thumb is on the mend, thanks for asking. Did you manage to get to homebase for any wine coolers? I need a working thumb for the next level of tinkering.

The face I was wearing was somewhere between furious and maniacal. Such a shame when things degrade to stern words.

Nope clean forgot about getting to homebase for that wine cooler. Age is taking it's toll and the memory ain't what it... however the expression goes. Seriously though once I was in the UK I had a shed load of things to do and it just got downgraded down the list. Got too many projects on the go at the moment anyway. Like I need another cooker. I might wait till you finsih yours and buy one :lmao:

Yeah shame that stern words needed to be said, but given the "deny everything" card he played with your missus he just deserved the new anus you ripped for him and deserved it.

Hope you get some good results from it.

As for those watches for sale on Ebay. I was sorted tempted but then I look at my £11.50 Timex I got from Asda 4 years ago which is still working just fine and thought naaaah.

I have an antique pocket watch (not in the best of condition these latter days) from the late 19th century and I don't think there is anyone alive today who could repair it., A few decades back there was. I had a new brass gearwheel cut (by hand) which restored it to some sort of function. It was at that time in the late 1970's my only watch and of every day use. My dad used to have the skills to repair antique clocks, it was his hobby and he used to cut the delicate gears for them, but watches were just that little bit too delicate even for his skills.
